The tier system
How tiers work, how customers move between them, and why they increase loyalty.
Tiers give your best customers a status that reflects their loyalty. A customer who has spent a lot over time is in a higher tier and may receive better rewards, priority service, or exclusive benefits.
How tiers work
Tiers are based on a customer's lifetime points — the total points they've ever earned, regardless of redemptions. This means a customer's tier only ever goes up, never down due to spending their points.
When a customer crosses a tier threshold, they're automatically moved to the new tier. The tier name syncs immediately to their Klaviyo profile.
Example tier structure
| Tier | Lifetime points required | Benefits example |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 0 (everyone starts here) | Basic rewards access |
| Silver | 500 points (≈ 500 DKK spent) | 10% extra points on every order |
| Gold | 2,000 points (≈ 2,000 DKK spent) | Free shipping + exclusive rewards |
| Platinum | 5,000 points (≈ 5,000 DKK spent) | VIP benefits + dedicated support |
Thresholds are in lifetime points, not DKK
Tier thresholds are set in lifetime points, not order value. If your rate is 1 point per 1 DKK, then 2,000 points = roughly 2,000 DKK in lifetime purchases.
Tiers in Klaviyo
Every time a customer changes tier, the new tier name is written to their Klaviyo profile under the property clubhouse_tier. You can use this in flow triggers (Profile property changed → clubhouse_tier) to send a tier upgrade congratulations email automatically.
