Configuring your tiers
Step-by-step guide to creating and activating your tier structure in Clubhouse.
Tiers are optional but recommended. A well-designed tier system significantly increases repeat purchase rates because customers are motivated to reach the next level.
Before you start
Before setting up tiers, make sure you have your point rules configured (Settings → Rules). Tier thresholds are measured in lifetime points, so the thresholds you set depend on your points rate.
Setting up tiers
- In the Clubhouse dashboard, go to Settings → Tiers.
- Click "Add tier" to create your first tier.
- Give it a name (e.g. "Bronze"), set the minimum lifetime points to 0 (everyone starts here), and optionally add a description of benefits.
- Add your second tier (e.g. "Silver") with a higher threshold (e.g. 500 points).
- Continue adding tiers until your structure is complete.
- Click "Save" to activate the tier system.
Naming tips
Tier names are shown in Klaviyo custom properties and can be used in email personalization. Choose names that feel aspirational and relevant to your brand. Common options:
- Classic progression: Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum
- Brand-specific: Member → Friend → VIP → Ambassador
- Product-themed: Seed → Sprout → Bloom → Garden (for a plant shop)
Start with 3 tiers
More than 4 tiers can feel overwhelming. Start with 3 and add more later if needed. The most important tier is the second one — it gives new customers an immediate goal to work toward.
