Connect Klaviyo

Connect Klaviyo

How to connect your Klaviyo account so Clubhouse can sync loyalty data.

Once Klaviyo is connected, Clubhouse writes points balance, lifetime points, and tier directly to each customer's Klaviyo profile as custom properties. These update automatically within seconds of each order.

Prerequisites

  • A Klaviyo account (any plan, including free)
  • Admin access to your Klaviyo account

Step 1: Find your Klaviyo Private API key

  1. Log in to Klaviyo.
  2. Click your account name in the bottom-left corner.
  3. Go to Settings → API Keys.
  4. Click "Create Private API Key".
  5. Give it a name like "Clubhouse" and grant Full Access (or at minimum: Profiles - Read/Write).
  6. Copy the API key — you'll only see it once.

Use a Private API key, not a Public key

Klaviyo has both Public and Private API keys. Clubhouse needs a Private API key to write data to profiles. Public keys only work for tracking.

Step 2: Enter the key in Clubhouse

  1. In the Clubhouse dashboard, go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. Under the Klaviyo section, click "Connect Klaviyo".
  3. Paste your Private API key and click "Save".
  4. Clubhouse will verify the key and show a green "Connected" status.

What syncs automatically

Once connected, the following data syncs to Klaviyo profiles on every order:

  • clubhouse_points_balance — the customer's current redeemable points
  • clubhouse_lifetime_points — total points ever earned (used to determine tier)
  • clubhouse_tier — the customer's current tier name (e.g. "Gold")
  • clubhouse_tier_points_needed — how many more lifetime points to reach the next tier

Historical customers

Clubhouse only syncs Klaviyo profiles when a new order is processed. Existing customers without a recent order will sync the first time they make a new purchase. You can backfill existing customers from the Members section.
